WHY NOT LET THE INSURANCE COMPANY ESTABLISH YOUR CLAIM? Many claims are settled without a public adjuster. It is also true that many tax returns are filed without an accountant. Would you let the IRS figure your income tax? You are not required to accept the company's assessment of your claim either. Your insurance company will require that you itemize and value everything you claim as damaged or destroyed. They or their repairman may even do this for you, but be assured they will make every effort to keep your claim to a minimum. Your insurance policy is a contract between you and the insurance company. Failure to comply with the terms of the policy can void your insurance. It is subject to interpretation in many different areas that affect your claim. You may have every confidence in the insurance company. However, be assured their adjusters are well trained to interpret the policy for the company's interest and minimize your claim. You need your interests represented.
